## Advertising and cookies

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings: https://www.google.com/settings/ads. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at https://www.aboutads.info/choices/.

How Google uses information from sites that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent message before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time with the privacy settings link at the bottom of every page.

This is the advertising part only. Your full policy also has to cover forms, comments, newsletters and analytics, and local law may ask for more.

What AdSense requires your privacy policy to say

Google's "Required content: Privacy policy" page lists what a publisher's privacy policy must include. In short:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet
  • Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Ads Settings (you may also point them to www.aboutads.info)
  • If other vendors or ad networks serve ads, name them, link to their sites and tell users they can opt out there

What this generator does and doesn't do

It writes that section in plain words, with the opt-out links, a list of your other ad networks, and optional paragraphs for the consent message shown in the EEA, UK and Switzerland and for Google Analytics.

It doesn't write a whole privacy policy. Your policy also has to cover what you collect through forms, comments, newsletters and analytics, and laws such as the GDPR or Turkey's KVKK may ask for more. If you handle personal data beyond ads, get advice for your situation.

Where to put it

Add the section to your existing privacy policy page and link that page from every page of the site, usually in the footer. Then run the privacy policy checker on your live site: it finds the page from your home page and looks for these disclosures.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a privacy policy to get AdSense approval?

Yes. Google's program policies require a privacy policy that discloses the use of cookies and third-party ad serving. Reviewers also look for it as part of a trustworthy site.

Can I copy Google's sentences word for word?

Google lists what the policy must say; it doesn't require exact wording. The generator stays close to Google's phrasing so nothing gets lost, written to your visitors rather than to publishers.

Do I need a separate cookie policy?

Not for AdSense. The required statements can live in your privacy policy. Your consent tool or local law may ask for a separate page.

Is this legal advice?

No. It covers what AdSense asks your policy to disclose about ads. It isn't a review of your legal obligations.
